RULES

THE Geelong Thoroughbred Club's Owners Award will again be held in 2010.

All club members who own or lease a racehorse are eligible to enter for the award.

Conditions of entry are:

1. You must be a registered owner of the racehorse you nominate with your name in the race book or the member of a registered syndicate.

2. You may only nominate one racehorse for the season.

3. Points will be awarded on the following basis:

1st - 12 points; 2nd - 6 points; 3rd - 4 points; 4th - 2 points; 5th - 1 point.

If a dead heat occurs in a particular race the points awarded will be added together and divided equally. For example, in the case of a dead heat for first place the points awarded for first (12 points) and second (6 points) would be added together and the owner would receive 9 points.

4. Members have until March 31, 2010 to nominate their horse for the current 2009-10 season that finishes on July 31.

Unraced horses can be nominated at anytime. Where a member purchases a horse after March 31 that member may nominate that horse in the competition but only performances while in the member's ownership will count.

5. For the 2009-10 season members may nominate at anytime during the year PRIOR to the horse having its first start for the season and providing they have not previously nominated a horse for the season.

6. The award will be shared if more than one member has nominated the same horse, which accumulates the most points for the season.

7. If two or more owners are equal point leaders at the end of the 2009-10 racing season, the horse with the most prizemoney will determine the winner.

 8. The prize cannot be redeemed for cash.

SEND your nomination to the club using the CONTACT PAGE.
